The way that I see it, EV is a moot point. I trust that amazon.com belongs to Amazon, Inc because I've used it before and the name is congruent. If, however, the first time I was about to do an order on macsales.com I was a little confused because the branding and company name is actually OWC / "Other World Computing, Inc". http://i.imgur.com/8hbLJgc.png (similarly, RPM has the website tophitsusa.com) EV works to their favor because • they are not a household name (not very important) • their website is different from their company name (VERY IMPORTANT) • they take credit cards (semi-important) But for most businesses that have the same domain as their company name or that at least look reputable and not sketchy, it doesn't matter.
