I'm after something similar too: I want to be able to 'shadow' just the volume on one SB from another, where the two are always synchronised. I think I can do this using Felix's pluging with a couple of hacks (to remove the player selection choice), and by removing everything but the 'now playing' menu on the shadowed player.
