I have been struggling along the same lines. I had to copy the codecs (e.g. cook.bundle) into /Library/Application Support/ffmpegX/reallib
I could then get sound for a station, but the sound alas does break down after listening for about 15 seconds, it ends up sounding as if multiple stations are playing at the same time.
