Right I've finally got some sound after copying codecs (cook.bundle etc) to: /Library/Application Support/ffmpegX/reallib A few things though 1) It only works if I run slimserver from the shell and not from the Preference Pane, ie cd /Users/userxx/Library/PreferencePanes/SlimServer.prefPane/Contents/server perl slimserver.pl What's the difference between starting the slimserver through the Prefs GUI and shell directly? I would have thought Prefs just calls the perl script, I guess the pwd would be different. 2) The sound for example on Radio 4 (speech) sounds as if there is re-verb or at a very low bit rate. Actually if you listen for a while (>15 secs) the sound really breaks down and you can hear what appears to be two stations simultaneously. How compatible are different versions of mplayer with various codecs? could this be an issue? Any thoughts?
