In the course of testing various versions of mplayer for use with Mac OS X Tiger, I managed to get the version that I knew worked into a state where I could use AlienBBC when SlimServer was started from the command line but not in normal use. I suspected a permissions issue, and was able to solve the problem.
But I don't quite understand the logic of what I did, and would be glad of an explanation. Also, my solution may help others who have problems. The permissions were set as Owner (danco) Read and write, Group Read only, Others Read only (as shown in the Get Info window - a check with the command-line showed that mplayer was executable by all three). I would have expected that to work, as anyone could read and execute mplayer. But, as I said, that did not work. What did work was changing the group, which was set to danco, to the admin group. -- danco _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
