I was following some advice that solved another user's 'missing songs on rescan' issue that involved uninstalling SlimServer completely and then reinstalling the latest nightly. It didn't solve my missing song problem, but it completely fixed Alien BBC that now works perfectly! It might be worth a try for some of you...
