Are there any plans to make a copy with some CD ripping software included (maybe instead of softsqueeze)?
No plans, sorry. I thought about this (as the subject has come up before). But it's not as simple as adding ripping software. You'd also want to tag the files. Have them tagged automatically using CDDB or the like, etc. And all this should be glued together in a simple way... I think this would be a project of its own.
I would like to put together a machine which runs slimserver and just needs a CD inserting to make it automatically rip the tracks.
I agree, this would be fantastic, and I'd like to have that myself. But I won't be able to deliver it. I've got neither knowledge nor time to do this :-(.
