When you power off, does the WeatherSaver text immediately appear? Does the same text come back when you press a button? I don't own a SliMP3, but I did test out my plugin with softsqueeze. It won't update the screen until it has fetched the weather. Perhaps the screen goes blank while the getweather sub is called. The debugging info is haphazard and not that useful in v1.0. I just posted a v1.1 that has more debugging info in it. Download that one, run it and send me the last 100 lines of your logfile. You will have to restart the server once you overwrite the plugin.
