Have you tried their wma stream? Also, their live stream (http://www.kqed.org/w/streamingfiles/kqed_real.ram) is mono so you will need to edit 'slimserver-convert.conf' to change "-af volume=0,resample=44100:0:1" to "-af volume=0,resample=44100:0:1,channels=2" if you are not using AlienBBC v0.99.
