This sounds like the "garbled" audio problem which is known to occur with standard Mplayer and "live" BBC streams. What version of Mplayer and OS are you using ? If you are running XP please try using a patched version of Mplayer from Neil's site http://www.x2systems.com/alienbbc/mplayer.html Try replacing Mplayer.exe with the one at this link http://www.x2systems.com/alienbbc/mplayer20051113.zip
