Thanks for the advice - I've managed to get the real streams playing by disabling the wav/flac and rtsp/flac filetypes.
crater - This could be the reason why moving the lame.exe and flac.exe into the codecs directory worked for you. It appears that slimserver will automatically disable the lame/flac filetypes if it can't find the exes, forcing the server to ignore the conversions and stream wavs (I think!). Still no closer to figuring out why flac or socketwrapper fail to work though - I've attached a trace with the DEBUGPIPE enabled and also removed the totally-slients from the flac and mplayer command lines. You can see that mplayer starts streaming and filling its buffer but soon it fails - maybe once it starts passing it to flac? Oh, and I did this with the pre6 version of mplayer too (got to try everything!). I installed everything on my laptop, which I haven't yet installed XP SP2 onto - it's still got XP Pro SP1. Everything worked fine on that! Maybe there is something funny happening with XP Pro SP2? (I've disabled the windows firewall and all my AV stuff). Anyway, at least I can now stream BBC through my SB - so much more elegant than my previous solution! What is the advantage to using flac? Is it worth trying to get it to work with it? +-------------------------------------------------------------------+ |Filename: moredebug.zip | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=581| +-------------------------------------------------------------------+ -- Cornfed ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Cornfed's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3027 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=19473 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
