The delay in starting any RealAudio will be about 15 secs at best - there is a 128k buffer to fill. To get an accurate timing - get the elapsed time display on the SoftSqueeze display, play a BBC station and when playing press rew - the counter will reset to zero - what time does it say when sound is heard ?
I don't understand "the sound isn't coherent but is jumbled" Does it sounds like the same stream chopped into pieces and some pieces are played out of order ? Can I restate the current situation - You get good sound when Mplayer is played stand-alone but you get garbled from the same station when played through Softsqueeze.
