Attached is my first release of the XM Radio Online plugin that I've been working on. It is functional, and I use it every day now, but it is in a very early stage. It is released "as is", and I don't promise to provide support, but if you have comments or bugs to report, you can contact me at [EMAIL PROTECTED]
To install, you should just be able to un-zip, drop the XMRadio directory into your plugins directory, reload the plugins, configure your email / password in Internet Radio server settings, and go! To play XM Radio Online, you need an account with XM. This can be an online account that you get as part of an XM satellite subscription, or a stand-alone XM Radio Online subscription. You can also get a free 3-day trial online subscription from the XM Radio web site (www.xmradio.com). For V0.1, the plugin has the following attributes, restrictions, and known errors: -- There is only a web interface, not a direct player control interface. I plan to build out a direct player interface in a near-term future release. -- The web interface only supports direct tuning by XM Radio station number. I plan to build out Browse Genre, Browse Station, etc. features, but not yet. -- I have only worked with the Default skin and haven't tested or touched any other skins yet. -- There is no checking or error message if you try to tune a station that does not exist...you just get eerie silence (and probably a memory leak for good measure). I expect to have this fixed in V0.2 in a few days. -- When you log on to XM Radio through the plugin interface, your login session seems to be good for about one hour. After that, unless you have done a manual logoff / logon, the session will no longer play new streams that you try to tune. If you try to play a new stream after your session times out, you'll get more of that eerie silence. This too will be fixed soon. The simple workaround is to manually log off then back on. -- I have only tested with a Squeezebox. I have an old SliMP3 sitting around somewhere, and plan to test with it soon. -- I have only tested on Windows XP and Windows 2000 Server. Not sure if it will do anything useful anywhere else (XM streams are wma, but with direct streaming, maybe it works from Linux and Mac?) If you can live with these terms, try it out and let me know what you find. +-------------------------------------------------------------------+ |Filename: XMRadio.zip | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=628| +-------------------------------------------------------------------+ -- philf ------------------------------------------------------------------------ philf's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3159 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=19791 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
