Assuming the installation is OK - the log would seem to indicate something is blocking audio from Mplayers. This is typically a firewall or AV or other comms. software such as for a VPN (e.g. provide remote access to office network). For Zonealarm firewall it is necessary to uninstall the firewall not just disable it - perhaps you could try uninstalling you McAfee firewall to see if it makes a difference ?
There is another option you could try - in post #4 there is a replacement for socketwrapper.exe http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=19641 Also after replacing socketwrapper in slimserver-convert.conf change all the #PIPE# to #DEBUGPIPE# and post the log if there is still a problem.
