James, I'm having the same problem as basssy. Everything had been working fine, but when I updated iTunes to the latest (6.0.3.5 WIN) version iTunesUpdater stopped working and I got the 'Attempting to make connection...' / 'Failed to launch!!!' duo of error messages.
