Hi felix,

Thanks for the info. I have now successfully recorded a couple of
remote controls. As an aside, I'm still having problems with the
downloaded LIRC codes for my Sony TV. For some reason I have to press
each button twice to get a result. I'll try to record the Sony TV
remote to see whether it's a problem with the LIRC file (the exact
remote file wasn't available so I grabbed the next nearest model
number!).

Anyway the real reason I'm trying all this stuff out is that I've
created a working plugin to web enable IR commands making a kind of web
enabled universal remote. The main reason for this is that I want to
enable a TV/DVD/etc to be controlled via a wi-fi enabled PDA or phone
(e.g. Nokia 770 or nokia N80 when it is released).

A small HTML file containing the remote control commands is manually
configured (WebIRRemote/HTML/Default/plugins/WebIRRemote/index.html)
after the plugin has been installed. The plugin generates IR commands
by sending the commands to the IRBlastSend function in the IRBlaster
plugin when buttons are clicked (an IR Emitter must be plugged in). The
HTML file is accessed from 'Web IR Remote' hyperlink added to the Slim
Server home page or directly at
http://localhost:9000/Default/plugins/WebIRRemote/index.html

Given your considerable experience creating the IR Blaster plugin, I
would appreciate your guidance on a couple of things:
- Would this make sense to be incorporated in to the IRBlaster plugin?
If not then I'll maintain separately.
- Would it be difficult to make the remote layout configurable via the
gui (much like the setup of IRBlaster)? This could be complicated
because the button layout is best controlled through set of tables
(one for each remote) which might be difficult to code.

Any thoughts are most welcome!
