The key is really to understand the slimserver data model, that is the
tables and the relation between the tables. A short introduction of the
most important ones for creating playlists with the SQLPlayList plugin
follows below. There are some sample playlists available in the
included README.txt file, you can also use the web interface and look
at the generated SQL queries to get ideas. More playlists templates are
available in the web interface if you are running slimserver with the
MySQL database or you are running the TrackStat plugin. 

tracks: 
Contains all tracks, the column audio = 1 will give you all songs. The
table also contain rows for albums and these have audio=0.

genres:
Contains all genres.
Often used in combination with tracks and genre_track table.

contributors:
Contains all artists and other contributors.
Often used in combination with tracks and contributor_track table.

albums:
Contains all albums.

genre_track:
Contains the relation between a track and genres. A single track can
have several rows in this table if it have more than one genre.

contributor_track:
Contains the relation between a track and artist/contributor. A single
track can have serveral rows in this table if it have more than one
artist/contributor.

track_statistics:
Table available only if you run the TrackStat plugin, contains
information about rating, play counts and last played date set by the
TrackStat plugin.
