Unless something has changed the XM plugin is not currently working w/ SlimServer 6.5. It does log in OK and I can select channels and get a mms URL from the debug text (which will open in WMP); but that URL is not being passed on correctly to the squeezebox. That is why you are not hearing anything w/ 6.5b1.
