That's cool, the speed of the library browsing (and the search
functionality)
This is courtesy of Fred (CLI maintainer) and Jeff (who created
http://tinyurl.com/z5kfa based on Fred's work) insisting in keeping things
simple. I may have spent half the development time on the music selection
list. I first wanted some tree model. It took my Zaurus >30 seconds to
load a list of 500 albums... A tabbed dialog with "a-c", "d-f" etc. pages
- not feasible with the CLI. Finally they convinced me to only query the
elements I needed to fill the screen, add a simple search form. They were
right.
is great and very easy to use on the X30.
That device sports a processor 3x as fast as my Zaurus' - the treemodel
might have worked :-).
