I have seen something similar recently and I am not sure of the cause (I have virtually the same setup as you). I was starting to think it was the BBC site but that doesn't really explain why the web interface works. It never seems to do it when I have a trace running to see what is happening! (I'm sure you know this but the podcast bit is different as it is an MP3 stream rather than RealAudio.)
