No, IR Repeater doesn't 'interpret' the IR commands but only repeats what it receives which should not 'add' or 'double' commands. I am guessing that your Sky+ box is picking up the original IR commands and the repeated ones. With your Sky+ box in the hidden location and IR Repeater turned off try using your remote. Is your Sky+ box still reacting? If so, this would strongly suggest it is picking up the original IR commands and you wouldn't need IR Repeater in that situation.
