Well seeing that nobody else seems to be seeing this, I've done some more digging around.
Streaming Flac to a SB1 see's the problem Streaming mp3 doesn't So I did some testing and found that when streaming Flac the SB1's buffer holds around 1 second of music, streaming 128kMP3's it holds 15 seconds. An SB2's buffer holds around 37 seconds of Flac. So it seems that anything that blocks streaming for over a second is going to stutter an SB1 steaming Flac or wav.
