Graham,
thanks a lot for this information. While the response times seem to be
even a bit slower than on my Zaurus, they're still reasonable, they should
not render SlimRemote unusable. Still, some of them are quite irregular
(might be due to other activity on the server).
"147300"="xxxx status - 1 tags:gabehldiqtyr: 159 ms."
"132316"="xxxx status - 1 tags:gabehldiqtyr: 151 ms."
"117951"="xxxx status - 1 tags:gabehldiqtyr: 883 ms."
This one's a little out of the line... But this can happen.
Did you try to run the same version on your PC? Is the difference obvious?
These status queries only take about 20-50ms (with peaks at 90ms) on my
Laptop... I was considering some optimisation in the query routine, but do
not have come up with a solution yet. I know that the process is far from
optimal.
BTW: do you use password protection on your server?
"16248"="can podcast items: 701 ms."
"15356"="can lma items: 757 ms."
"14275"="can shoutcast stations: 1 s 539 ms."
"12563"="can radioio stations: 579 ms."
These should be really quick. I'll have to check with Fred why these
requests take so long. They're only checking whether a plugin is installed
or not. I fear they already run part of that command (which often is, in
the case of radio plugins, download something from the internet :-/).
"10614"="can favorites: 1 s 265 ms."
All those times look pretty quick. I'm learning a lot about pocket PCs
doing this!
more than 1s is a lot too much IMHO. I'll have to investigate in
optimizing the networking. Thanks for the input.
