And I guess I need to think about how I'm going to manage the process of ripping the rest of the CDs to the external drive - guess I can rip batches and unmount the drive to transfer the files over....
If you wanted, you could log on to the SlimCD machine, re-mount the drive RW mode, start ftp or ssh daemon, transfer, re-mount RO... Maybe it's easier transferring the disk :-)
Well, its working off the SlimCD server! Player firmware 'down-graded' to v28, even after upgrading, is that right?
No. After the upgrade script (if it has succeeded) you should have the latest firmware 45. Did you use the upgrade script (haven't used it for quite a while...)?
Oh darn, I just remembered that if I want to be able to save playlists from the player, I'm going to have to make the drive FAT32 - what a nuisance! One more thing to have to think about.
