Hi, Able to accomplish part 1 of your suggestion:
I deleted the alien folder, re-ran the install scrip (verified it was the correct one for 6.2.2). Proplem persists: still crashes my squeezebox when I select a bbc station. Then there's the trace. Um, not sure how to run that. Could you give me/point me to a quick set of directions.
