well they have both the same source (an excel file with some more
station information i.e bit rate, home page, country, language etc.).
In fact a couple of weeks before I did not had an AlienBBC installation
and I was just able to listen to mp3 live streams which I had to provide
to the slimserver as a playlist (most of the .m3u files I uploaded in
the German forum) in the Playlist folder of course. And in the
beginning of using AlienBBC I added some additional .m3u files with
Real and Windows Media streams. So, for someone who likes the playlist
approach the .m3u files are fine and will work with or without AlienBBC
(pls. have a look at the AlienBBC description of how to access playlist
with AlienBBC). But for a more integrated solution with AlienBBC, the
Perl modules (AlienBBC Addons) will be the smarter way to do it. At
least in the moment. Maybe in the future, someone may write an AlienBBC
Menu module which is able to read a menu structure from a conf file or
something similar. But in the moment that's how it works or at least as
I understand it.

- So the Perl modules listed below are ready to copy into the
../Plugin/Alien/AlienAddon/ folder. They will appear as menus in your
AlienBBC configuration for activation or deactivation (pls. check out
the Plugin documentation for more details)

- the .m3u files are ready to copy into the Playlist folder of your
music library (maybe in a subfolder named ../AlienStream when you want
to access it with AlienBBC Playlist - pls. check out the documentation
for detailed information).

- and last, there is an Excel file which contains all the station
information for Switzerland and for some Brazilian stations. Each
country in a different worksheet. I can distribute this file also and
maybe others can complete it or add some more countries. Would be nice
and maybe someone can write an Perl script which generates menu modules
;-)

So, pls let me know if you guys are interessted in it.

cheers

Walt
