It seems that the web browser object is playing games with us.

I'll see whether I can enhance that class to support this or use the
system's standard browser.
Is that a bug in Slimserver (or
feature)? Can I chnage some setting in Slimserver to make this work?
You could disable the password protection... It's a problem with Ewe's
WebBrowser class. I just checked its sources and didn't find any reference
to a user or password, it does not seem to support this feature. That
class is so basic (and slow!), I'll see whether I can use the system's
default browser instead.
