I just posted & checked in a fix for the track title in LastFM player menu.
Re: the player freeze, I do see that while connecting, but for me that lasts only 1 or 2 seconds. It's all SlimServer code anyway, nothing to do with the plugin. Try enabling --d_remotestream and see if anything unusual shows up...
