Phil, those warnings at the beginning are unexpected; the Scrobbler one seems to indicate something wrong with your user setup. The LastFM ones are caused by an unset status variable which is probably caused by a previous, failed, attempt to connect? Would need to see output with --d_plugins, --d_remotestream and Scrobbler messages turned on to see exactly what is up. However the rest of the output is fine and exactly what I get.
This morning I have experienced the same lock up once when starting streaming. I would guess that LastFM don't connect properly sometimes because it doesn't seem to have any cause on the SlimServer side, I've restarted the stream and SlimServer a couple of times and haven't been able to repeat it. I don't know if the 'Now Playing (Connecting...)' message is supposed to take over like that... Holding down pause does seems to get you out of it though.
