Kaizen28, The more data on the link the more likely you will have problems with mplayer. However I don't think you should lose the connections especially on "Listen Again".
You should look at the TCP stats and see what is happening - then decide what to do. One command you can use in a Command prompt window is "netstat -s -p TCP".
