Thanks for the hint above, but on my Intel Mac it doesn't seem to work. I intalled Alien BBC and the lame encoders and mplayer into /usr/local/bin
Note: Alien BBC works perfectly well, so the lame and mplayer parts must be OK. Still no sound from XM plugin, yet I can use the Alien BBC well.
