There is a issue however if you have renamed some files. In this situation the TrackStat data still exists in the database, but it can't be "connected" to the slimserver data after the rescan since the filenames are used as key for the relation between the slimserver data and TrackStat data. If you have musicbrainz tags in your music this is no problem because then the musicbrainz id will be used as key instead and the relations will be updated to match the new filenames automatically in slimserver 6.5 and later. In slimserver 6.3 and earlier you will have to perform a "Refresh Statistics" operation from the TrackStat settings page to update the relations manually.
A backup/restore before/after the rescan won't solve the problem when you haven't got musicbrainz tag. The reason is that the filenames will be incorrect in the backup also.
