Mplayer doesn't work on the standard Linkstation - I'm not sure about the Pro.
The Kuro HG (no disk) is now us$149 (but shipping is v. expensive) - a new model (processor unknown) comes out in Sept. However with the Kuro you have to be confident with Linux to get it going. A more interesting box is the Thecus N2100 with 600Mhz Intel ARM and 128Mbyte socketed memory (can be upgraded) - but without a resolution to the Mplayer issue not worth the risk.
