Can you play mp3 files ?
Stick with the version that came with AlienBBC install - it works with
many users on many CPUs. Other buildd of mplayer can be built
differently.
Recently a user had a problem with mplayer crashing XP completely but
only when playing network streams - an update to his network driver
fixed the problem. So make sure your drivers are up to date.
Open a dos prompt - increase width & depth (i.e. history) window size
(through topleft menu from icon). Change directory to the directory
containing mplayer.exe and run the following command
Code:
--------------------
mplayer -v -vc null -vo null -cache 128 -playlist
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/realplayer/media/fmg2.rpm
--------------------
Copy the mplayer output and paste into a post. Your previous log cut
out some important info.
