It's a bit of a relic really.. The intention was to re-do the whole player system and add support for zone^H^H^H^Hgroups.. ;-) Player1 will gain whatever player you tick in the players menu, and Player2 will only contain what you set it to. If you wanted winamp functionality, or whatever, you'd use Player2. It all needs sorting properly and other things keep coming in the way.. I guess if I had a load of transporters or even more than one squeezebox, it would get done sooner rather than later..
I think the UI could do with indicating clearly somewhere on the Library dialog what player is selected though (perhaps also on the tasktray tooltip). Last night I was selecting music from the library and pressed play. I didn't realise that Moose had defaulted to the bedroom player, and my wife was trying to sleep ;)
Yes, I do this all the time with the web-ui, which for some reason defaults to the squeezebox in the bedroom rather than my softsqueeze here..
