Sorry I haven't used Picoplayer and updating the file could be messy. 
What I'll do is update the plugin so that the edit is no longer
necessary, I doubt if there any perl 5.08 (Ithink) users around anymore
who might be affected by such an edit.

I expect you'll run into a raft of problem with CDplayer on Pi -
starting with getting a suitable cdda2wav then drivers, kernel modules
and finally permissions.

My advice first is get cdda2wav working with your CD drive displaying
the CD drive table of content and perhaps extract a WAV file from a
track.  I expect I'l have an update to the plugin done by that stage.
