I am running Logitech Media Server 7.7.1 r33735 on my Zyxel NSA325 v2
NAS. I use it to feed the audio to: my Xperia Z5 smartphone using the
Squeeze Player receiver app; my 4K Fire TV using the Squeeze Player
receiver app; my Windows 10 desktop PC using Squeezelite. It all works
more or less seamlessly, but I would really like to have an always-on
mains-powered Squeezebox receiver rather than have to use my smartphone.
I happened upon a Pure Jongo A2 receiver selling for £15, so I bought it
on the basis that I could add it to my LMS setup using philippe_44's
innovative plugin.

Setting up the Jongo proved to be a pain (turned out to be an overlooked
router setting), as did getting my head around installing the
squeeze2upnp plugin, but I finally got it working, only I am completely
unable to sync up all the players. I have read through much of this
thread and many other websites trying a wide variation of settings, but
nothing seems to make much difference. The smallest delay I have had is
about 2 seconds. If I drop my Jongo from the list, everything else
synchronises as it should, but as soon as I add it again, it plays out
of sync. The Jongo seems very good otherwise, the bluetooth and wireless
connections are strong and the DAC sounds very good, but for me the
greatest joy of multiroom audio is the ability to have all your audio in
sync throughout the house so putting up with it is out of the question.
It sounds terrible when it is out of sync.

My question is, is it a simple fact that UPnP connections will never be
able to play in sync with other squeezebox receivers? If so, would I be
better to simply buy one of those cheap android TV boxes that come with
a 5GHz wireless connection and optical out (which you can pick up on
eBay for as little as £20) and simply install another instance of the
Squeeze Player receiver app? There would be no UPnP to worry about in
that instance. Or should I just try and source an original Logitech
Squeezebox Receiver from somewhere? It would be so good to get the setup
I have working, but if it's a non-starter, I'd rather not waste any more
time.

I would be very happy if I could conquer this little mountain before
Xmas so any and all suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated.
