I posted this on the maxwplay forum as well. The hard drive was sleeping
after 10 minutes but waking after about another 10 minutes and never
sleeping again. There was no disk activity during this time period so
hd-idle would not realise the drive was awake. I disabled the "autostart
desktop" function in max2play and that seems to have fixed it. I have
read some info about a display timeout after some time but I have not
looked to see if this is true but maybe this is the cause. My power
supply is only 2A and not the recommended 2.5A but nothing is plugged in
to the pi apart from the powered drive.
