Hi jimbo,

your 1) is definitely doable and there already exist an application
which does that. See my other post at
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showpost.php?p=150499&postcount=5

So far everything you play is automatically added to the slimserver
database. There is another thread which discusses that issue... :)
