LMS uses AnyyEVent for DNS resolution. BBCiPlayer plugtin DASH 1.5.* uses an AnyEvent module to do HTTP AnyEvent on LMS - it is setup to try to use both ipv4 and ipv6 but try ipv4 before ipv6
LMS has its own HTTP implementation - not sure how it handles ipv4 vs ipv6. The BBciPlayer plugin uses LMS HTTP for non audio data such as prog info , program feeds and images.
