I am having the same issue with the artwork with the server version 7.9.0 - 1488878280 @ Wed Mar 8 14:27:16 UTC 2017 It seems to work with a recent nightly. I upgraded my server to 7.9.1 and there i can't reproduce the problem.
Strangely enough after reverting to the stable version the artwork still worked for a short time (I presume because it was already cached?). A day later the problem occurred again. Another upgrade to a recent nightly and the artwork was displayed fine again.
