I double-checked that I hadn't misread the version umber, and I hadn't. I am in the preview program for GB, but as you say this version isn't listed.
I don't know why the C-3PO plugin interfered with this and the UPnP plugins, but I only used it a couple of times out of interest, so it's no great loss to me. I was testing chromecast to my TV partly to test whether I could listen to my music via a bluetooth headset paired with the TV in my lounge, and it works, giving me another listening option.
