In the short term No. Other hinted BBC changes could be significant in the short term. wrt to https. The BBCiPlayer plugin changes https to http as not all LMS version had https support and this was simpler way to minimise user problems. If BBC disable the http URL, the change can be undon ans I expect it will work OK as LMS 7.9.1 supporets https and I believe https has been backported to few other older LMS versions. The DASH part of the plugin uses a CPAN module for http communications and I know it supports https. Last year BBC "killed" iPlayer functionality (BBC terminated a data feed) of many smart TVs to the annoyance of users. If BBC kills http support in iPlayer then it is likely even more smartTVs will stop working and more outrage so I don't anticipate it within 2-3 years. Support of http 2 is not in BBCiplayer plugin of LMS at the momen but I doubt if BBC are going to implement it quickly. BBC have promised to kill the remaining data feed used by BBCiPlayerExtra next year and replace with the new functionality/API promised in 2015 but I think it will be something new or more likely none. Interesting that BBC has noted that using https has reduced the number of "errors" introduced by ISPs (Chinese, Russian,Saudi Arabia, Turkey and UK) deliberately changing content. I think it is unlikely the "errors" are in Radio more likely TV. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106409 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
