I have loaded this successfully to a recent ubuntu LMS install and works fine. My home system however runs on Vortexbox 2.3 (perl 5.18.4). It will not even allow me to enable the plugin.
??? You say you successfully loaded the plugin, but then you say you can't enable it? How did you install?

This sounds wrong. As if some other process than LMS had created that folder. Did you "install" manually (eg. from the shell)?
