Can you take a look at the application log and see if it says anything on the 8-sec rhythm? and Are you using username/password on server? I believe I saw something like this on the nightly a few weeks ago and it went away when I went back to final 7.9.1. I am setting up a new LMS server running the nightly so I can see what is going on. If it is happening on an 8 second interval, then something new in 7.9.2 is happening when server check happens.
