I could not figure out how to connect to a TCP socket directly from Angular.
As pippin mentioned you likely don't need to. Just send your commands to /jsonrpc.js as outlined many times. If you serve up the skin from LMS you wouldn't even have to bother about security issues.
(and it's certainly overkill to run nodejs AND Apache for this kind of application...)
