You don't need telnetd, only a telnet client. You're not connecting to any  
telnet service, but are using the telnet client to open a socket  
connection to SlimServer CLI.

just run "telnet yourserver 9090". SSH won't work as it tries to encrypt  
the data (which slimserver won't understand)

It seems so. The CLI commands mentioned above alone keep crashing some  
installations. Could you please follow the instruction in  
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=32422&page=2#74 so we  
hopefully get closer to the issue? Thanks in advance!
