Okay tried to do a full rescan but now I get the error message “media scan terminated unexpectedly “. Anyone else having this issue after updating this plugin.
I certainly don't. What platform are you on?

This _could_ be related. But that's a standard module, nothing that comes with the plugin. Did you enable logging for MAI? If so, please turn it off to see whether this gets you around this issue. It seems as if there was a problem with a debug module.
Another way to use MAI is to disable the scanner integration in its settings. This would considerably slow down browsing artists, but should not fail the scanner.
