It has been an > intermittent 'feature' for months, currently all is good! BBC plays AAC so with Boom and Duet - transcoding is needed. Not sure about Joggler. Transcoding (both a faad and flac process) can load the processor but Pi Model 2 & 3 are quad core so shouldn't be a problem unless you had multiple players all playing BBC at the same time (not synced).
The output of transcoding is Flac which can have a higher network load - potential for problems if all players are playing BBC simultaneously especially if network has weak points.
