Before your response I tried installing LMS on another machine (Windows 7). That new instance of LMS recognized the squeeze-lite RPI but not the Squeezebox Receiver. It had a blue LED. I then saw your suggestion about uninstalling the helper plugin on my NAS. I uninstalled the helper, stopped the new LMS instance and restarted the NAS LMS. The Squeezebox Receiver was happy again (white led) and it hasn't had any Spotify audio issues for about 30 minutes. It might be a coincidence but this is the longest it's played without losing connection in a while.
